Terms of Use
In short
- Yiru is currently free. If we introduce paid features, we will tell you in advance, and you will never be charged automatically.
- What you write belongs to you; we only use it to provide the service.
- Please be kind: no harassment, no discrimination, and no monitoring of helpers.
- AI and translations can be wrong. Confirm anything about safety or health in person.
- We work hard to keep the service running, but cannot promise it will never be interrupted.
1. About these terms
Yiru (易如管家 in Chinese) is provided by YIRU TECH, a business registered in Singapore (UEN 53513779J). “We”, “us” and “our” mean YIRU TECH, and the “service” means the Yiru app (app.yiru.com) and website (www.yiru.com).
By signing up for or using the service, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. What the service is
Yiru helps households and live-in domestic helpers communicate about housework. Employers describe what needs doing; the app turns it into lists, translates it into the helper’s language and sends reminders; helpers tick tasks off when done.
- We are not a helper employment agency. We do not place or employ helpers, and we are not a party to the employment relationship between you and your helper.
- We do not give legal, employment or immigration advice. Complying with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) rules for migrant domestic workers — including rest days, workload, accommodation and terms of employment — is the employer’s responsibility.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Sign up with an email address you can receive mail at. Each account is for one person only.
- You sign in with a code sent to your email. Keep your email and phone secure; actions taken through your account are treated as yours.
- Employers may invite family members and helpers to their household. Helpers join with their own account and agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy themselves.
4. Rules of use
When using the service, you agree not to:
- do anything unlawful, or ask a helper to do work that is unlawful, dangerous or beyond what is reasonable;
- harass, threaten, insult or discriminate against anyone, including the helpers in your home;
- use the service to monitor others, or collect other people’s data without their knowledge;
- upload identity documents, bank details, health information or other sensitive data, or content you have no right to share;
- interfere with, attack or try to gain unauthorised access to the service, or use automated means to make large numbers of requests;
- impersonate anyone, or resell or rent out the service.
5. Your content
- Content you write or upload (tasks, messages, photos, voice and so on) belongs to you or its original author.
- To provide the service, you allow us to store, display, translate and transmit that content, and to process it with AI and use it to improve the service as described in the Privacy Policy. This permission is only for running and improving Yiru.
- You confirm you have the right to share your content and are responsible for it. We are not obliged to review content in advance, but may remove content that breaks these terms.
6. AI and translation
Momo’s replies, the lists it prepares and all translations are generated by AI and may be inaccurate or incomplete.
- For important matters, check the original text and the list in the app before relying on them.
- For anything involving safety, health, medication, allergies, or the care of elderly people or children, do not rely on translation alone — confirm in person that it has been understood.
- Momo can create and change tasks for you. Its changes take effect just like your own and are shown in the conversation, so please check they match what you meant.
7. Fees
The service is currently free for both employers and helpers. If we introduce paid features, we will give notice in advance and you will decide whether to use them. Nothing in these terms creates a charge automatically.
8. Changes and interruptions
- We keep improving the service and may add, change or remove features. We will tell you in advance about significant changes.
- Reminders depend on the push services of phone and browser makers and may be delayed or not arrive. Do not rely on reminders alone for anything time-critical or safety-related.
- We do our best to keep the service available and your data secure, but cannot guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
- If we decide to stop providing the service, we will give at least 30 days’ notice and provide a way for you to retrieve your data before it stops.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- we make no express or implied warranties about the service’s fitness for a purpose, accuracy or availability;
- we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of data, loss caused by housework being done wrongly or not done, or disputes between you and your helper or family;
- our total liability for anything relating to the service is limited to SGD 100.
These limits do not affect any liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as liability for our fraud.
10. Ending your use
- You may stop using the service at any time and ask for your account to be deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.
- If you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, we may suspend or close your account. Where appropriate, we will tell you first.
11. Names and logos
The names and logos “易如管家”, “Yiru” and “Momo”, and the design of the service, belong to YIRU TECH. Please do not use them without our permission.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and will show the new effective date on this page. For significant changes, we will let you know in advance in the app or by email. Continuing to use the service after an update takes effect means you accept the new terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. If a dispute arises from these terms or the service, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it together. If we cannot, the courts of Singapore have jurisdiction.
These terms are available in English and Chinese. If the two differ, the English version prevails.
